Haywood Public Transit Dispatcher-Part time

This person is responsible for dispatching and communicating with clients and drivers to schedule appointments using a radio transmission and telephone.
A knowledge of Haywood County: roads, landmarks etc. is required.
Dispatch client assignments to transit drivers.
Records drivers daily work time and break times.
Uses sound judgement in following dispatch instructions. Keeps regular contact with drivers. Prepares and mails “No Show” letters.
The ability to practice respectful and continuous communication with drivers, confirming all calls.
Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs, multiple task demands, and work structures.
Perform well in a team environment.
Good listener with a professional demeanor.

Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Ability to use various computer software for scheduling. Understanding of Microsoft Office programs.

Applicants with dispatching experience will be highly considered.

Valid driver license and insurance are required. Criminal background checks along with drug testing are required.
