ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
@ Folkmoot, an Arts & Community Cultural Center, Waynesville, NC.
Thanks to the North Carolina Arts Council, Folkmoot is able to offer an immediate part-time position for an administrative assistant. This position offers a twenty-hour work week, with the flexibility of either five days a week, four hours a day, or four days a week, five hours a day. You will be the face of the Folkmoot Friendship Center, working in our reception office at 112 Virginia Avenue, so you must be comfortable greeting and interacting with the public, our tenants and their guests. You will oversee the operations of the arts programs, coordinating exhibitions, studio tours, and other community events. In addition, you will be expected to answer telephone enquiries, respond to emails, sort incoming mail, and manage the Folkmoot calendar.
Required skills include the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize daily work, clear verbal and written skills, experience using Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Calendar) in a professional or organizational setting, proficiency in software like WordPress, Microsoft Office and basic office equipment, and have the ability to handle sensitive and confidential organizational information. Bonus skills include a love and understanding of art; visual, performing, literary, applied or decorative arts, and a passion for Haywood County.
